What are some of the symbols in the story?

Ans: There are many symbols in the story: Gillian, Hayden, Blind man, and the main symbol, money.

Are there any objects which seem to have a symbolic meaning? What are their meanings?


Ans: Money is a symbol. In the story, Gillian doesn't know how to use it. The money means a lot to everybody. Just like in the story, his uncle want Gillian to know the meaning of the money, so he comes up with the $50,000 so that he will learn how to use it.

Do any people act as symbols in the story? What do they represent?

Ans: Gillian represent the people who waste a lot of money. Hayden represent nothing, because she doesn't talk or show the feeling in the story.

Do aspects of the story’s setting seem symbolic? In what way?


Ans: Yes, in the story, characters and things are seem to be symbolic.

Is one symbol used throughout the story or do the symbols change?


Ans: Yes, one main symbol is used throughout the story which is money, the symbol does not change but the one who use the symbol change it. (Gillian)
